My aim is to make work where beauty is expressed in simplicity of form, line and
volume. My work achieves a decorative quality through the repetition of simple
elements. I create unique pieces that use, almost exclusively, laser and TIG
welding techniques to join individual formed pieces of metal. In my current work
these are hand cut strips of silver which are combined with hand raised forms.

For twenty five years I worked within the luxury automotive industry, hand-making
bespoke pieces for Rolls Royce, Bentley and the Morgan Motor Company.
My accumulated knowledge of traditional skills passed on through the trade, coupled with new technologies and production processes, has provided an approach to making that extends beyond and complements the traditions of silversmithing.

Through experience I have developed a responsive aptitude to making. My
creative design process invariably leads to a technical challenge which I enjoy
resolving, drawing on this intuitive approach and my ability to stretch, shape
and join metal precisely.

In 2007 - 2009 I studied at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham and I have
been Artist in Residence there since September 2009.
